How to Play

Learn the core of the game.

The digital version is planned to begin with a clean rules model: board, pieces, legal actions, Gyullas economy, Dratp state, checks, line-over logic, and win detection.

Setup

  1. Place each Navia in the center Navia Square on the back row.
  2. Place Red Gulled on the same row as the Navia, second from left and second from right.
  3. Place Black Gulled across the forward Gulled row.
  4. Keep seven Maseitai behind the End Line until summoned.
  5. Place Gyullas in each player’s vault.

Turn options

Move a Gulled
Black Gulled move forward and earn 1 Gyullas. Red Gulled move forward in one of three directions and earn 3 Gyullas. A line-over replaces the normal movement income with the line-over bonus.
Summon a Maseitai
Instead of moving, a player may summon one Maseitai to an open Summon Square on their side. Navia Guard Maseitai use special adjacent-to-Navia summoning rules.
Move a Maseitai
A summoned Maseitai moves according to its compass. Standard yellow-square movement is not blocked by intervening pieces unless the piece is using enhanced arrow movement.
Move, then Dratp or Invoke
A Maseitai may move and then Dratp or Invoke that same piece. It cannot Dratp or Invoke and then move. You also cannot move one battle piece and Dratp another.
Navia actions
The Navia moves like a chess king. The Navia may win through capture, line-over goal, or by paying 60 Gyullas to perform a Navia Dratp, but not while in check.
